Vision
Our vision for Evergreen Haven goes beyond the ordinary, aiming to transform the landscape of children’s behavioral health. With the creation of a voluntary residential children’s treatment facility, we will establish a voluntary, non-institutional, homelike sanctuary that fosters well-being, healing, and personal growth for every child in need within our diverse community. Our inviting ambiance will radiate safety, assurance, and a commitment to elevating behavioral health standards. Prioritizing recovery, growth, and environmental Net-Zero sustainability, we strive to rewrite the narrative and the unfounded fear-driven stigma surrounding behavioral health. Through our commitment to changing the urgently needed behavioral health outcomes in King and Pierce County by leveraging the latest evidence-based practices, we will seamlessly integrate these practices with flexible private rooms in a welcoming residential haven, marking a clear departure from outdated multi-resident spaces found in the large, impersonal, ostracized facilities. Resident dignity, privacy, and safety will flourish at Evergreen Haven, exemplifying our dedication to welcoming the most vulnerable from our community into a serene, healing low-stress environment. Our unwavering pursuit is the creation of a true haven for ALL. Mission
The mission of Evergreen Haven is to become a haven for all children facing behavioral health challenges in King and Pierce County. By creating a truly one-of-a-kind fully integrated, voluntary, homelike, and healing haven for individuals struggling with physical and behavioral health challenges. Our mission is to offer a comprehensive continuum of care, addressing both mental and behavioral health disorders, while maintaining a strong focus on healing, growth, and respectful integration into the community as a valuable mental health advocacy resource. The design and ambiance of the facility will reflect our commitment to providing safe and highest-quality care in a manner that achieves the fastest recovery.
Goals
Foster Compassionate Healing
At Evergreen Haven, our goal is to develop a facility that fosters well-being, healing, and growth for children, staff, and visitors. To create an environment that promotes sustainability, warmth, and attention to scale in the building’s design, ensuring a harmonious connection with nature. We strive to be a true haven for all, offering compassionate care and unwavering support to those seeking mental recovery. To enhance the healing experience, we prioritize providing private rooms, offering children a personal and tranquil space conducive to their recovery journey. Our commitment extends to offering a comprehensive continuum of clinical services, addressing both medical and behavioral health disorders, with a focus on personalized treatment plans that meet individual needs.
Inviting Design & Stigma Reduction
Designing Evergreen Haven as a collection of inviting, homey, residential-style buildings situated in a residential community setting- as an alternative to the large, overwhelming, & antiquated institutional-style facility designs. Our primary goal is to create a homelike atmosphere that feels warm, comforting, inviting, and conducive to healing—truly a place that feels like home. By being directly in the community, we will be actively contributing to stigma reduction and working towards reducing the stigma associated with mental health. Through various initiatives, including public awareness campaigns and anti-stigma events, we will encourage open conversations about mental health. Our emphasis will be on portraying seeking help as a sign of strength, not weakness.
Sustainable & Environmentally Conscious
Our dedication goes beyond caring for children; we prioritize the well-being of the environment as well. Upholding the highest standards of sustainability and environmental responsibility in the region, we strive to achieve the highest LEED Platinum certification. Additionally, we aim to meet True 100% Net-Zero building standards, which can only be attained by structures that generate as much energy as they consume, using renewable sources. By adhering to these principles, Evergreen Haven stands as a first-in-class model for environmentally conscious healthcare facilities, setting a new standard for other facilities across the state.
Inclusive Community Integration & Advocacy
Establish Evergreen Haven as a haven for all, with no barriers, becoming a shining beacon of hope for those in need and serving as an advocacy resource in the community. We aim to actively engage with the community and promote awareness of behavioral health issues and their solutions, while ensuring that our facility provides inclusive and accessible behavioral health services to all individuals, regardless of their background, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, gender, or age. Offering training programs to ensure that all employees understand and respect cultural differences. Providing care that aligns with the values, beliefs, and traditions of the individuals seeking help will enhance the effectiveness and acceptance of behavioral health services.
Safety, Privacy, & Dignity
Our priority is to deliver safe, high-quality, and dignified care. We achieve this by utilizing advanced technology and providing safe private rooms, in contrast to many other facilities, along with creating flexible facility building designs. These highly adaptable private rooms and separate buildings are designed with standardized configurations, accommodating a diverse range of client types and needs. Our facilities are equipped to offer structured programs and support for children transitioning to independent functioning and successful community reintegration. Throughout their journey, we ensure that children experience an environment that upholds their safety, privacy, and dignity, fostering a supportive atmosphere for their recovery.
Innovation & Education
Develop and execute a comprehensive community engagement and education program that fosters open dialogue about behavioral health issues. By partnering with schools, local organizations, and businesses, Evergreen Haven will reach a wider audience and promote awareness of mental health challenges and their solutions. Establishing Evergreen Haven as a center for research and innovation in the behavioral health field. By collaborating with academic institutions, doctors, and community partners, we will contribute to advancements in treatment methods, interventions, and mental health practices. Sharing research findings with the broader community will raise awareness and encourage evidence-based approaches in behavioral health care.
Transition Support & Collaborative Partnerships
We will implement the latest state-of-the-art trauma-informed, evidence-based approach in our therapeutic environment. We are dedicated to proactive discharge and treatment planning, involving families, natural support systems, and multiple agencies. This collaborative effort aims to facilitate successful transitions for the children back to the community, ensuring continuity of care and ongoing support. To ensure this, we will forge strong partnerships with other behavioral health facilities, hospitals, community-based organizations, and support groups across the state. By establishing these collaborations, Evergreen Haven can share best practices, resources, and expertise, contributing to the enhancement of behavioral health care statewide. Active engagement in this network of mutual support will foster a collective effort to improve mental health services and outcomes, ensuring a healthier and more supportive community for all.
Healing Stress-Free Residential Atmosphere
Our aim is to create a healing stress-free atmosphere. Our facilities will be strategically situated in a serene forested area, far from traffic noise, hustle and bustle of the “concrete jungle.” This tranquil setting plays a crucial role in promoting mental recovery and overall low-stress well-being for the children. To further enhance the healing experience, we have designed open-concept social and dining spaces that foster a residential, homelike atmosphere, promoting serenity and comfort. These inviting spaces encourage interaction and a sense of community among children, staff, and visitors. In addition to the shared spaces, our private rooms offer children the freedom to choose and create a personalized environment. These private areas also serve as havens of respite and tranquility, providing much-needed quiet spaces essential for children’s recovery and well-being. At Evergreen Haven, we prioritize creating a nurturing and stress-free atmosphere, supporting our community’s children on their journey to mental and emotional healing.
